Shirley Jean Mann Tyree, 69, of Madison Heights, went home to be with her Savior on May 1, 2019. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Julius K. Mann and Carrie Powell Mann of Lynchburg.
Shirley is survived by her beloved and supportive husband of 49 years, Gary V. Tyree of Madison Heights. She also leaves behind her son, Jeffrey Scott Tyree of Madison Heights; and a precious grandson, who she loved with all of her heart, Jacob Tyree. She is also survived by a brother, Mike Mann, and two sisters, Linda Mason (Macon) and Kathy Gaulden, all of Lynchburg; her father-in-law Ashby L. Tyree of Madison Heights; her sister-in-law Peggy Giles of Texas; her brother-in-law Greg Tyree (Sally); and special friends Everett and Anne Gay of Madison Heights. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Shirley leaves behind her godchildren, Michelle Gay Adams and Tommy Gay who will cherish many memories with her. Shirley retired from ATCO Products in Forest.
Shirley always put other people’s needs before her own and had a big heart. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Monroe on Friday, May 3 at 1 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. with Reverend Glynn Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Amherst Cemetery.
