Shirley Kidd Carter
Shirley Kidd Carter passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at her residence. She was the loving wife of Riley E. Carter for 54 years.
She was born July 15, 1938 in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Frank Madison Kidd and the late Carrie Viola Kidd. She was the former owner of Ralph's Beauty Salon, where she made many lifelong friends.
Shirley was a lady of many talents, loving everyone and had an overwhelming faith in people.
In addition to her husband, she leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Teresa Carter and, Stuart Carter, brothers: Douglas Kidd and his wife Regina of Waynesboro, Cecil Kidd and his wife Betty of Concord, loving in-laws, Velma Clements, Dorothy Marks, Judith Mayberry, Jean and her husband Roy Bryant Jr, Pete Carter and his wife Florence, and a host of other family members.
She was preceded in death by her only sister, Margie Kidd Olson; brothers, Gilbert Madison Kidd, and Leslie William Kidd.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Hills, especially Roberta West and Vicky Bailey.
A private family memorial service will be held.
Because of her love for animals especially her cats, Sophie and Sunshine, in lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions to be made to your local Humane Society
