Shirley May Luce Snell, 80, of Forest, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 after a brief illness.
Shirley was born in Dansville, NY on November 19, 1935.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Carol Luce; her brothers Gordon and Ronald; and one sister Donna.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Stanley Snell; her two sons, Richard Snell and wife, Becky, of White, GA, and Timothy Snell and wife, Alicia, of Chesterfield, VA; her daughter, Pamela Snell Easterbrook and husband, Jeffrey, of Lynchburg; her grandchildren, Christopher and wife Crystal, Angela and husband Peter, Chelsea, Hillary, Holden, Caroline, Harrison, and Hannah; and her great-grandchildren; Krystal, Kaleigh-Jo, Knox, and Addison.
She was a deaconess at the Forest Alliance Church. She was also very active in the prison ministry and retired from the New York Telephone Company. She was a much-loved mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
