Shirley Marie Andrews Hoback, 67, of Bedford, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at her residence with her loving family around her. She was the wife of Brooks Baylor Hoback, they were married for 48 years.
Born in Cripple Creek, Virginia, February 5, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Edison James Andrews and Ethel Nannie Lovell Andrews. Shirley was a CNA for 38 years with Bedford County. She spent her life caring for others.
Shirley is preceded in death by her sister: Christine Andrews; and brothers: Frank, Roger, and Doug Andrews.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter: Barbara A. Farley and husband, Eddie; son: Timmy Hoback and wife, Melanie; grandchildren: Jessica Hoback, Brooklyn Farley, Zoey Farley; step grandchildren: Terri and Joey Constantino, Christina and Brittany Farley; sister: Mary Berry; brothers: Jerry Andrews, and wife, Darlene, James Andrews, Williams Andrews, David Andrews, and wife, Angie, Robert Andrews; special cousin: Frances Johnson; Special Caregiver, Sue Butler; and her dog: A.J.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Gatten officiating. Interment will follow in Centerpoint United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, March 21, 2016 from 6-8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 2840 Electric Road. Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018.
