Sidney Randall Skeeter, of Lynchburg died Saturday, March 11, 2017.
“Randy” was born January 25, 1949 in Nelson County a son of the late Joseph Walter Skeeter and Virginia Woody Skeeter. Randy honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Randy served with incredible distinction during his time in the service and was awarded the following decorations: the Silver Star for gallantry in Action, Bronze Star for heroic achievement, the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal awarded for heroism with a “V” device which denotes valor, Combat Infantry Mans Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with a “1960” device, and finally a National Defense Medal.
Following his traumatic experiences during his time at war, Randy suffered from various mental health issues.
It was Randy’s and the family’s request that services be held privately, but please help us remember and thank this amazing veteran by sending condolences to him.
