Stanley Edward Olewnicki, 85, of Lynchburg, VA, died Saturday, October 10, 2020. He was the husband of the late Laura Petak Olewnicki.
Born Tuesday, February 05, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, Stanley was a son of the late Stanley Thomas Olewnicki and Loretta Golembiski Olewnicki.
Stanley is survived by his only child, Samantha Olewnicki Sheffey, of Lynchburg, his grandchildren Savannah Brook Beckham and Julius Taos Beckham, his youngest brother John Olewnicki as well as his brother Thomas Stanley Olewnicki.
Stanley was the very definition of what it means to be a man. He spent much of his life being perpetually selfless and provided for any person that ever crossed his path. Stanley was the epitome of what every man and father should try to be. He was a driven man of principle who loved his family deeply. His word was always a guarantee no matter how much extra work it might mean for him. There will never be another man like him but through his grandchildren his legacy will live on. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War with a fervor for his country and a love of his duty as a sailor. After his time serving under the US Navy he married Laura Petak Olewnicki and remained happily married to her for 45 years until her passing.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Stanley’s life will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Tharp Funeral Home, with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
