Stanley "Stan" John Adamczyk

January 27, 1964 — January 15, 2024

Stanley (Stan) John Adamczyk, 59, of Wirtz, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly at his home in the presence of loved ones on January 15, 2024.

Stan was born on January 27, 1964, in Passaic, New Jersey, and was the son of Stanley and Nancy Adamczyk. He spent his early years growing up in North Arlington, NJ, until the family moved to Wantage, NJ, when he was in 8th grade. He graduated from High Point Regional High School in 1982. After high school, Stan spent time working several jobs, including construction, car sales and hay brokering, until he found a career in the trucking industry with Overnite Transportation, one of the nation’s largest LTL carriers. He moved to Virginia to continue working for Overnite at their headquarters in Richmond, VA. He spent 30 years as a truck driver with Overnite Transportation, which was purchased by UPS in 2006 and rebranded to UPS Freight. The company was sold to TFI International in 2021 and changed to its current name, TForce Freight. He also took time off from driving to work for Prodisplays of Tampa to help with Walden University’s biannual Commencement Ceremonies with his sister, Chris.

Stan was a man of great work ethic and dedication. He was a jack of all trades of sorts and had many skills and talents, as well as being remarkably resourceful and innovative. He was always the continual jokester and was named class clown his senior year of high school. He loved to laugh and make others laugh, too. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, boating, fishing, working on cars, vacationing and spending time with family and friends, and loved all animals. Stan always dreamt of owning a lake house. That dream became reality when he purchased his home on Smith Mountain Lake in 2021. He always put others first, and his own needs last. Stan touched so many people's lives with his big heart and his desire to always help anyone in need.

Stan is survived by his 2 daughters, Teal Adamczyk (Matthew Barnes), and Alexa Adamczyk; The mother of his children, Debby Lynn Adams; two grandchildren, Sophie and Sonder; His Mother, Nancy Adamczyk; and sisters, Nancy (Wade) Couch, Nadine (George) Mihalko, and Chris (Joey) Quiroz. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and many friends. Stan is preceded in death by his father, Stanley T Adamczyk.
