Starr Evangaline Niles Sorenson, 63, of Moneta, died Friday, May 9, 2014 at her residence. She was the loving wife of Stanley L. Sorenson.
Born July 11, 1950 in Warren, PA, she was the daughter Avalon Powers Niles and the late Kelly J. Niles. Starr was a travel nurse with Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Starr is also survived by her children: Steven Alan Sorenson, Kelly Thomas Niles and wife, Martha, Samuel David Sorenson; grandchildren, Thomas Alan Niles, Matthew David Niles; great-grandchild, Larissa Marie Niles; sister, April Kirberger; brother, Bruce Niles and sister-in-law, Patricia Niles.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Shena Raye Meadows and grandchild, Kristen Robin Niles.
The family request memorial contributions in Starr’s memory be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation 2507 James Street, Suite 106, Syracuse, NY 13206.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home.
