Stephen Mariano Mistretta, 61, of Forest, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015. He was the husband of Renata Bollins Mistretta for 38 years
Born Thursday, August 27, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY, Stephen was a son of the late James Vincent Mistretta and the late Eva Caraccia Mistretta.
In addition to his wife, Stephen is survived by a daughter Marie M. Estill and her husband, Andrew, of Richmond, three sons: Stephen Mistretta, Jr., of Charlottesville, Nicholas Mistretta and his wife, Kelly, of Evington, and Michael Mistretta and his wife, Brittany, of Evington, eight grandchildren: Emma and Luke Mistretta, Jack and Izzy Mistretta, Hazel and James Mistretta, George and Evie Estill; two sisters: Barbara Bollins and her husband, George, of Manchester, CT, and Mary Shaw and her husband, Merle, of Coventry, CT, a sister in-law, Sylvia Mistretta, of Forest, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by a brother, James Mistretta.
Stephen will be remembered for his sense of humor and his unconditional love for family.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm on Monday, January 19, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Michael D. McCarron officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
