Stephen Wayne Campbell, 68, of Lynchburg died at his home Monday August 24, 2015 he was the devoted husband of Andrea Lipscomb Campbell for 47 years.
Stephen was born October 24, 1946 in Elkton, VA a son of the late Mary Campbell Bowles. Stephen honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and was retired from the paving and construction industry. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Dana Elizabeth Vaughan (Keith) of Lynchburg, four grandchildren: Ryan Campbell, Christian Vaughan and fiancée Kimber, Ashlyn Vaughan, and Grayson Vaughan all of Lynchburg, two great-granddaughters: Karley Vaughan and one great-granddaughter on the way, his siblings: Ricky Campbell of Charlottesville, Virginia Mowbray (Richard) of Bridgewater, Peggy Turner (Terry) of Timberville, Dino Bowles of Timberville, and Claudette Bottenfield (Bobby) of Penn Laird, and numerous nieces and nephews, a mother-in-law Bee Lipscomb of Lynchburg, and a brother-in-law Tom Lipscomb of Lynchburg. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by one sister EttaMarie Bowles.
A Celebration of Stephen’s Life will be held at the home of his mother-in-law, Bee Lipscomb at 2:00 p.m. Saturday August 29, 2015.
