On Friday December 11, 2020, Sterland Lee “Pudding” Fitzgerald slipped into his father’s loving arms comforted by his wife Shirley Mitchell Fitzgerald.
Sterland was born July 8, 1949, to the late William and Mable Fitzgerald and grandmother Annie Garland Mitchell who raised him.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his home his two sons Corey Lipford and Girard Younger; three step-daughters, Nicole Mitchell, Danielle Cook, and Keisha Harvey; four step-grandsons, Shamon Lewis, Trey, Isaiah, and Jasiah Andrews; two step-granddaughters, Jessica & Jasmine Andrews; one step great-granddaughter, Ky’Mania Lewis; four brothers, Shirland, Edward, Jeffery, and Pete Fitzgerald; four sisters, Janet, Patricia, Easter Fitzgerald & Arnetha Terry and one Aunt Lettie Bowman; three sisters-in-law, Brenda Mitchell, Martha Gilbert, and Patricia Alexander and his two brothers-in-law, Steve and Tim Mitchell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
A graveside service for Sterland will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the First St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Elliott Road, Gladys, VA 24554, with the Rev. Allen Pannell officiating.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
