Steve Allen Lawhorne, 45, of Madison Heights entered into eternal life at his home Thursday, August 16, 2018.Born September 5, 1972 in Lynchburg, he was a loving dear son, brother, and uncle who will surely be missed.
He was the son of the late Roy Allen Lawhorne. Steve is preceded in death by his uncles, Percy Lawhorne, Glenn Lawhorne, Beaver Baker, Murphy Mitchell, and Michael Mithcell; aunts, Virginia Mitchell and Rhodie Campbell; loving grandparents, Mamie Mitchell, Jenny Baker; and grandfather, Jack Mitchell.
Steve is survived by his mother, Betty Jean Mitchell Lawhorne Wade; dad, Ronnie Wade Sr.; brother, Ronnie Wade II; sisters, Tabitha and Tiffany Wade and B.J. DeJarnette; nieces, Daezhia and Adariah; nephews, Delante, Sanchez, Lakota, and Cam; loving girlfriend who will miss her special boyfriend, Laurie Ann Willis; uncles, Jackie and Judy Cunningham, Richard and Diane Porter; aunts, Marjorie and Danny Newton, Janet Pleasants, Kay Ashley, and Helen and Jimmy Maddox; loving great aunts and uncles, Jessie James Tyree, Barbara Ann Mitchell Tyree, William Fitch Tyree, Mary Jane Pleasants, and Ethel Wooldridge; special cousins, Justin, Ronnie, Timmy, Calvin, Mark, Jock, DeDe, Linda, Kevin, Wills, Gary, Shannon, Brandon, Glenn, Wills, Cathi, Herbert, Hank, Conway, Janet, Billy, Manard, Tim, Jean G., Theresa F., Robbie, Theresa W., Jimbo, Daryl, J.R., Artie, Punkin, Sissy, Willy, Shirley,Barry, Sonny, George,Nancy, Bobby, Lisa, Michael, Joni, Brian, Dale, Chris, Travis, David, Angie, and Tammy: special friends, Rosa, Chris D., and Tina and many other loving family members and friends.
Special thanks to Pastor Jacobkutty Uthup of Northside Baptist Church who went to both the hospital and home several times a week, praying and singing with Steve and his family, Centra Hospice, Trooper Haynes for his visit with Steve, kind words, and his wonderful gift of God’s Word, the entire staff at Lynchburg General Hospital on the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th floor, Johnsons Senior Center, Region Ten staff, especially Ben, and the entire Staff at Tharp Funeral Home. Also thank you to our loved ones who have come to our rescue when we needed them the most. I pray they will all be blessed tenfold over, love you, thank you from the bottom of my heart, Steve’s mom and family. Last but not least, I want to personal thank God our Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and for all the prayers and visitors during our loss.
