Steven Franklin Ruff, 68, of Lynchburg, went to his eternal home in the early hours of Tuesday, January 30, 2018 after being surrounded that family and friends. Born Wednesday, March 02, 1949 to Franklin Ruff and Iva Dean Collins Ruff (both deceased), he proudly served our country for six years in the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his wife and best friend of 27 years, Lori Brunk Ruff, Steven is survived by his dearly loved daughter, Christine Ruff, of Lynchburg, mother-in-law Dorothy Brunk and sister-in-law Teresa Vignali and spouse Claude, sister-in-law Patricia Caulder and her children, as well as niece Michelle Vignali, nephew Robert Vignali, nephew Kenneth and spouse Jamie Vignali and their children Cossette, Noah, and Joanna; and nephew Jonathan and Lindsey Vignali. In addition to his parents, Steven was predeceased by Father-in-law, Robert Brunk.
Steven completed a Master’s Degree in Industrial Arts and Technical Education at Appalachian State University, was a corporate trainer for IBM Charlotte, NC for 13 years and Wachovia (Wells Fargo) retiring in 2007. He was also a technology instructor at Rowan Cabarrus Community College for 17 years. He was an avid reader, collector of books and sci-fi, vinyl record albums and movies. He enjoyed multi-medium arts & crafts such as wood-working, stained glass, tile, and paper. Although humble, he was a great support and instrumental in the global success of his wife’s business endeavors.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 03, 2018 at Timberlake United Methodist Church Sanctuary.
