Steven Joseph Fiorito

Steven Joseph Fiorito, 53, of Lynchburg, died Sunday, February 13, 2011. He was the loving husband of Mary-jo Dawson Fiorito.

Steve Fiorito was born December 3, 1957, in New York, a son of the late Edmund T. Fiorito and the late Marion R. Fiorito. He was a devoted father who was involved in every aspect of his daughter\"™s life. Steve loved baseball and spending time outdoors hiking and biking. He also was dedicated to helping friends and family with any building, repair and restoration project imaginable.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Steve attended Holy Cross School and graduated high school from E. C. Glass. He went on to earn his B. S. in mechanical engineering at Virginia Tech.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sarah Claudette Fiorito, of Lynchburg; two sisters, Teresa Fiorito Mace and husband, Warren, of Lynchburg, and

Eleanor Fiorito McCarthy and husband, Edward, of New Jersey; a brother, David Fiorito and wife, Jacqueline, of New Jersey; a sister-in-law, Michelle J. Stellman, of Missouri; an aunt and uncle, Sarah and John Romey, of Ohio; and ten nephews that he adored.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dr. Evelyn Fiorito-Howell.

A celebration of Steve\"™s life and Mass of Resurrection will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Msgr. J. Kenneth Rush officiating. The family will receive friends at a reception after the service. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
