Steve Bush, of Lynchburg, left this life Monday, July 16, 2012. Steve was born in Radford, VA, a son of the late Kenneth and Yvonne Bush.
He spent his childhood growing up in Hampton, and grew to become a selfless, devoted, loving son, husband, and father. He was the husband of Linda Burnett Bush for 26 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children: a son, Ryan Wheeler of Lynchburg, and his daughter, Amy Elizabeth Bush of Newport News, and his mother-in-law, Faye Burnett of Lynchburg.
Steve was a problem-solver and a methodical man. He enjoyed fixing things around the house, and working in the yard to make them beautiful. He had a strong passion for watching old movies. He selflessly took care of and provided for all of his family members in unbelievable and countless ways. Some of the most enjoyable days of his life were spent playing cards with his loving wife, Linda, watching his son Ryan achieve new personal records and win many track races, sharing many common interests and quality time with \"his little buddy\", his daughter Amy, and playing with his late companion and faithful pet cat, Oliver.
Steve is also survived by his two brothers: Philip Bush of Tucson, AZ, and Dan Bush, of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Lastly, he is survived by many nieces and nephews who cherished and adored him.
A celebration of Steve\"™s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 21st at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, with Reverend Luke Farwell officiating. The family will be receiving visits from family and close friends at the home of his mother-in-law Faye Burnett, who always loved Steve like her own son.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations in Steve\"™s memory, for the cat lover that he was, to Cats of the American Humane Association, 1400 16th Street, NW Suite 360, Washington DC, 20036. As Steve would always say to the family, \"We\"™re not pet people, we\"™re cat people.\"
We loved and adored Steve, and will miss him very dearly.
