Stuart H. Knight, 73, of Big Island, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017.
Stuart was a graduate of Big Island High School and attended Bluefield College. He retired from Georgia Pacific and was a Lifetime Member of the Big Island Volunteer Fire Department where he served as chief for many years. Stuart was a member of Big Island Baptist Church where he served as church treasurer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Rayetta Ross Knight and daughters, Rakia Jones and her fiancé Kenneth Herron of Lynchburg and Regina Fitzgerald and her husband Jeff of Big Island; two grandchildren, Todd Fitzgerald and Dianne Fitzgerald.
A memorial service will be held at Big Island Baptist Church at 11 am Saturday, December 9, 2017. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and lunch will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Island Baptist Church Mission’s Committee, PO Box 348, Big Island, VA 24526 or the charity of your choice.
Friends and flowers will also be accepted at The Knight residence in Big Island, VA.
