Sue Herion “Mimi” Pechmann, 81, of 212 Bruner Ridge Rd., Madison Heights, passed at her residence on Saturday, February 1, 2020. She was the wife of the late David K, Pechmann for 26 years. She was the daughter of the late Albert P. Herion and Laura Brown Herion.
She was born on August 10, 1938, in East Spencer, N.C., moving to Madison Heights at the age of 17, when her father was promoted to foreman and transferred with Southern Railroad.
She was the secretary and record room clerk for Central Virginia Training Center until retiring in 1995, after 27 years of service; she served as secretary for the James River Batteau Festival from 1992-2001, helping construct “The Morrisana” with co-workers from CVTC; a former driver for the elderly at CVAAA, which she loved doing; she also donated to the Red Cross and assisted with blood drives; and she was a former member of Northminster Evangelical Church of Madison Heights.
“Mimi” is survived by her two sisters, Mickie (George) and Vonnie (Harry); three daughters Toni (Brian), Michelle and Dave, and Stacy; six grandchildren, Amber (Tim), Jennifer (Kay), Raven, Christopher (Laura), Britney (Melissa) and Raychal (Tyler); 25 great-grandchildren, Kelsey (Justin), Devin, Blake, Tristen, Adon, Gavon, Tymber, Railyn, Raven, Gabi, Hannah, Tyler, Christian, Marissa, Chase, Kaylie, Allaura, Dakota, Kendra, T.J., Colton, Lane, Skylar, Anthony and Alision; two great-great-grandchildren, Davion and Devin; two nephews, Cory (Sarah) and Matt (Sandy); two nieces, Abbie and Mandy (Chris); four great-nephews, Zachary, Mason, Bryce and Devon; five great- nieces, Izzy, Synia, Niomi, Sophia, and Madison and was looking forward to a new great-niece or great-nephew in August ; also countless relatives, friends, extended adopted family, she was loved by everyone and always made sure everyone felt welcome.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Northminster Evangelical Church with the Reverend David Garrison officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
