Susan Springer Detweiler, 63, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, November 01, 2018. She was the wife of Alan Boyd Detweiler, for 38 years.
Born Friday, June 10, 1955 in Peoria, IL, Susan was a daughter of the late Vernon Springer and Joan Schmidt Springer.
In addition to her husband and mother, Susan is survived by her children, Patricia Cooner (Justin), Timothy Detweiler (Brittney), Stacy Wilson (James) and three grandchildren, Carter and Eliza Detweiler, Abigail Cooner, a brother Steven Springer, two sisters Joyce Baranowski, and Peg Moens.
Susan was a loving wife and mother. She lived a faith filled life of service to others through her profession of nursing, her church, and volunteer activities. She had a love for life and enjoyed the outdoors through biking, gardening, swimming, and walking. Susan enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Susan will be remembered for her warm smile and loving spirit. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends who are comforted by the knowledge that she is in heaven because of her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Susan’s life will be conducted at 11:00am on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Heritage Baptist Church with Pastor Nathan Smith officiating.
