Talmadge \”Œbucky\” Lee Lawhorne

Talmadge Lee Lawhorne, 62, of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010.

Mr. Lawhorne was born Saturday, April 05, 1947 in Lynchburg, VA, a son of the late Henry Talmadge Lawhorne and Susie Tooley Lawhorne.  He was retired from Radford Foundry where he was a technician.  He loved spending time with his brothers and family.  He enjoyed football and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and loved the ocean and ships.  He was also a proud member of the Steel Workers Union.

He is survived by his children, Dustin Lawhorne of Lynchburg, and Wendy Nicholas, of  Rustburg, a former wife, Carol Lawhorne, of Lynchburg, his sister, Rosalie Grizzell, his brothers, Preston Lawhorne and wife, Joyce, of Atlanta, GA, Gary Lawhorne and wife, Frankie, of Moore, SC, and Vernon Lawhorne and wife, Carol, of Lynchburg,

The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Lawhorne officiating.  Interment will follow in Amherst Cemetery.
