Tammy Leigh Burns

Tammy Leigh Burns, 50, of Lynchburg, VA, died Sunday, June 21, 2015, with her long-time companion, Jerry Stanley, by her side.
Tammy was born Wednesday, January 6, 1965, in Lynchburg, Virginia, a daughter of Ann Jennings and the late Samuel Burns.
Tammy was a proud and active volunteer for the Salvation Army and a member of its congregation. She also volunteered at Virginia Baptist Hospital and the Lynchburg Public and E. C. Glass High School Libraries. Tammy was an avid reader and will be remembered for her generous and positive spirit. She and Jerry shared many happy times together, especially at Holiday Lake.
In addition to her mother and companion, Tammy is survived by her daughter, Brandy DeJarnette, and her son, Gerard Swann; her sisters: Barbara Thacker, and Kelly Engelke; nieces: Dianna and Carrie; nephews: Jeramy, Bryan, and Derek.
A graveside service will be held at Fort Hill Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 1st, 2015, at 10:00 AM.
