Teresa Marie Johnson-Key, 60, of Bedford passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at her residence. She was born on October 9, 1959 to the late Richard Henry Johnson, Sr. and Avis Blankenship Johnson. In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by a brother, Richard H. Johnson, Jr.
Teresa was a cosmetologist for many years before becoming a CNA. She loved to care for the elderly, the disabled and animals of all kinds. She was generous to a fault, very giving of her time and she never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Teresa is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dennis Wallace Key; sister, Jan Johnston and husband, Rick; nieces, Amy Jackson (Johnathan) and Jenny Hiner (Tim); great nieces and nephews, Ethan, Emma, Clay, Andrew and Reilly; special cousins, Susan Blankenship and Leslie Parker and numerous friends and family.
A celebration of Teresa’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Tharp Funeral Chapel Bedford with the Rev. Vernon DeLong officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bedford County Humane Society or The Agape Center in Moneta.
