Terrance “Terry” Keith Ellis, 60, of Roanoke passed away on Thursday, November 10th
surrounded by his children. Born in McVille, North Dakota, he spent the majority of his life in
Devil’s Lake, North Dakota. He and his family moved to Salem, Virginia in 2004.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Mother, Karen Sundeen, Father, Dorrel Ellis, and
step-father, Roger Sundeen; His Siblings, Brother, Kim Ellis and Sister, Jody Borgerson.
Terry always helped those who asked for it, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a
man who could make friends anywhere he went. An outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting,
and camping with friends and family.
A Jack of all trades, Terry could fix anything. He split his work between maintenance and
contracting. He spent a lot of his time in the garage, fixing cars, woodworking, and any other
household task that needed to be done. He was always happy to receive any help he could get
in these tasks from his children.
Terry lost his battle to cirrhosis after many months in and out of the hospital. His loved ones
urge anyone who is struggling with alcoholism to receive help, and if your loved one has this
disease, please encourage them to get it and support them in this cause.
Terry is survived by His children, Son, Travis Ellis, Daughter, Taylor Ellis, and Son, Brandon
Ellis; His Grandsons, Damon Howlett and Xavier Harris; Sister, Michelle Kartes; Aunt, Cheri
Miller; and Estranged Wife, Elaine Ellis.
