Thelma Coleman Porter
Thelma Coleman Porter, 77, of Bedford went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 4, 2010. She was born in Bedford County on December 7, 1932 a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Coleman and Delilah Ester Woodford Coleman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Burks \"Buck\" Porter and her half-sisters, Eloise Atkins and Rose Ayers.
Thelma was a member of Bedford Church of God, and a retired nursing assistant at Bedford Memorial Hospital. She loved her friends in the Mud Alley Gang and the Pythian Sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Debrah Ayers and her husband, Kenneth of Bedford; her son, Cleve Porter and his wife, Sandy of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Cristy Wood and special friend, Randall, Jason Wood and his wife, Patty, Morgan Porter and his wife, Ashley, Aaron Porter and his wife, Susan and Katie Porter Evans and her husband, Mark; also five great grandchildren, Justin Justina and Jace Wood, Ethan Porter and Kyler Porter; three step-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Tharp Funeral Chapel, Bedford with the Rev. John R. Ivins, Rev. Ray T. Lyons and Rev. Rick Dellinger officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, 586-3443.
