Thelma May Stinnett

Thelma May Stinnett, 87, of Lynchburg passed at her home on Monday, January 4, 2021. She was born on May 14, 1933 in Bedford. A daughter of the late Samuel E. Gibbs and Margaret Wilmer. She is survived by her brother Samuel E. Gibbs, Jr. and her devoted sister Gwendolyn (Bennie) Craig both of Goode.

Thelma was the wife of the late George B. May and Melvin L. Stinnett. She was a loving mother to her daughter Jackie L. Wilson (Albert) of Lynchburg; two sons, Jerry W. May (Linda) of Forest, Larry S. May (Sharon) of Goode.

She was a wonderful mema to her grandchildren, Kim W Hayes (Ronnie); Wesley “Bubba” Wilson (Dawn); Kristy W. Miear, Talor R May, Korey B May, Kolby T May, Kortlyn T May. Seven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great grandchild, R. Clinton Hayes.

A celebration of life will be held at Timber Ridge Baptist church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 with interment to follow at church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
