Thelma Worley Wilson

Thelma Cordelia Worley Wilson, 89, of Bedford, died on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at her home. Born on October 9, 1921, in Saltville, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Vinton Worley and Bessie Collins Worley. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded   in death by her husbands, Ivan Rose and Russell G. Wilson.

Thelma was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and a retired employee of Southern Flavoring Co.

Thelma is survived by a son, Russell Preston Wilson and wife, Penny of Bedford; a daughter, Peggy Rose Knutson and husband, Roger, of Cannon Falls, MN; a sister, Dixie Worley Belcher, of Martinsville; four grandchildren, Roger Lee Knutson and wife, Kristi of Dorchester, IA, Craig Knutson and wife, Mary of Stewartville, MN, Denise LeBarron and partner, Mike Undenberg of Stewartville, MN and Brandy West of Roanoke, VA; special friends, Wayne and Orpha Lee Hatcher of Bedford; also eight great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Thelma\"™s Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Ray T. Lyons officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford.
