Thomas H. Worthington
The world lost a great man on November 23, 2011 when Thomas H. Worthington of Amherst, VA went to Heaven. He was a man of honor, integrity, and great moral values.
Thomas was born on November 4, 1935 in Pit County, NC. He served four years in the United States Air Force, and was a graduate of NC State with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was formerly employed at Boeing Co. as a lead engineer for the AWAC defense system, and with General Electric, Erickson, and Ma-Com and Tyco.
He leaves behind him his adoring wife, Louisa, and four wonderful daughters: Catherine Anne Worthington of Daytona Beach, FL; Rae Rochelle Nuckles of Elon; Karen Lynn Farrar of Lynchburg; and Autumn Louise Martini and husband, Paul, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
He is also survived by his mother, Reba Worthington, of Wilmington, NC as well as two brothers: Harry Worthington of Wilmington, NC, and James Worthington of Seneca, SC, and two sisters: Anne Nemmers of Wilmington, NC, and Rae Robert of Baton Rouge, LA. Thomas also has nine grandchildren: Sarah Louise Worthington, Gary Stevens Nuckles, Jr., Christopher Thomas Nuckles., Marcus Alan Nuckles, Steven Ray Nuckles, Thomas Lee Nuckles, Kevin Wayne Farrar, Jason Thomas Farrar, Bradley Taylor Farrar, and one great-granddaughter, Lydia Rosalee Nuckles.
A memorial service will be held December 3, 2011, at 11:00 AM, at Blue Ridge Baptist Church, 205 Blue Ridge Lane, Amherst, VA, with Pastor Allan Monfils. In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of contributions to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson\"™s Research, Church Street Station, P. O. Box 780, New York, NY, 10008-0780.
