Thomas “Tommy” Lynn Crawford, 68, of Bedford passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, September 27, 2018. He was born in Roanoke on July 28, 1950, a son of the late Andrew Rupert Crawford and Lucy Sneed Crawford. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Virginia Cottrell Crawford, and his second wife, Suzanne Thompson Crawford.

Tommy loved to spend time with his family and friends. He felt at home and was proud to say he was from Bedford, Virginia. Often times he could be found solving our worldly problems at Northside Supply in Bedford. His love for classic cars was very evident, especially convertible Mustangs. He graduated from Liberty High School with the class of 1969. After being employed by Piedmont Label in Bedford for 28 years, Tommy worked for the Bedford Adult Day Care.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Hazel S. Vance; two sons, Andrew “Andy” Crawford and his wife, Andrea, and James “Jamey” Crawford and his wife, Pam; two step-daughters, Melinda Cohan and her husband, Dave, and Stephanie Burger; five grandchildren, Zack Crawford, Ginny Beth Crawford, Camp Parker, Charlie Parker and Trey Parker; sister, Doris Croft; brother-in-law Bill Cottrell and his wife, Helen. He was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A funeral service and celebration of Tommy’s life will be conducted at 3:00pm on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Bedford Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. David L. Henderson officiating.
