Thomas Wagner Allen
Thomas Wagner Allen, 58, of Lynchburg died Thursday November 7, 2013. He was the devoted husband of Deborah Bibb Allen.
Tom was born January 16, 1955 in Richmond, a son of the late Sidney Allen and Mildred Beasley Allen of Lynchburg. Tom was a 1973 graduate of Brookville High School and then attended Virginia Tech after receiving his Associates degree from Central Virginia Community College. He loved animals and being outdoors which included hunting, fishing and camping. He worked as a Superintendent with Sidney B. Allen, Jr. Builder, Inc., and was a member of Moose Lodge #1727 and Oakland United Methodist Church in Goode.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by two brothers, Sidney B. Allen, Jr. and his wife Debra of Forest and Alfred Allen of Richmond, a brother-in-law James T. Bibb,Jr. and his wife Ellen of Maryland, mother-in-law Dorothy Bibb of Lynchburg, his nieces and nephews: Laura, Chip, Amy and Elizabeth Allen and James D. Bibb, III and his wife Noako, and two great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. today, Sunday November 10, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
A Celebration of Tom\"™s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday November 11, 2013 at Oakland United Methodist Church, 2465 Goode Station Road, Goode, VA 24556 with the Rev. Dr. H.O. \"Tom\" Thomas officiating.
Memorials may be made to Oakland United Methodist Church or to the Lynchburg Humane Society, 3305 Naval Reserve Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24501.
