Timothy Owen Houston passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
Tim was born on October 30, 1953, to the late James Robert Houston and Sally Houston Camden in Geneva, NY. Even though Tim faced many challenges due to an unfortunate event early in life that caused a brain injury, our mother encouraged him to work, play, and enjoy having an active part in his community.
Tim retired in 2016 from CVTC after faithfully working in the kitchen for 42 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and attending SF 49ers and Giants games while visiting his sister many times in California. Tim’s favorite pastime was watching old westerns and all the Star Wars movies! He also enjoyed bowling and walking everywhere he went on his days off.
Tim is survived by five siblings, Jim Houston (Liz) of Washington state, Becky Casey of Forest, Melody Dempsey of Vinton, Heidi Roach of Florida, DeeDee Harris (Kevin) of Lynchburg; stepfather, John Camden of Forest; and many nieces, nephews and their children and a very special caretaker Yolanda Williams of Madison Heights.
Tim had many friends in the community, most notably those he spent many hours with at Lynchburg Sheltered Industries.
Our very special brother will sadly be missed by all who knew him. Tim has left us with so many fun and funny memories!
A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at a time when his family and friends can be together.
Condolences can be sent to the family at 205 Swan Lane Forest, VA, 24551.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg is assisting the family.
