Timothy Jeremiah Alcorn, also known as “Tim” or “Jerry,” age 68, of Wirtz, died Thursday, March 18, 2021.
A son of the late Herbert Alcorn and the late Josephine Alldredge, he was born in Roanoke, VA. Tim earned his GED and worked as a fabric dyer in the textile industry. He later worked as a diesel mechanic for Kenan.
Cars were one of Tim’s greatest joys in life. He loved working on antique cars and racing at the Franklin County Speedway. But what was most important to Tim was spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and always knew how to make everyone laugh. Tim was very generous and helpful to many people.
Tim leaves behind to cherish his memory, a daughter, Ashley Tate, and her husband, Joe; grandchildren, Bradley and Abigail; sisters, Virginia Koger, Ramona Wimmer and husband, Bobby Wimmer; many cherished nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Alcorn; brother-in-law, Raymond Koger.
He will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he made other the years.
A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at a later date.
