Todd Beck, 50, of Forest, Virginia passed away on December 12, 2024. He was born on June 4, 1974 in Nuremberg Germany, the son of Catherine Marie (Heit) Beck and US Army officer and Vietnam War veteran Dwight Arthur Beck.

Todd graduated from Fort Knox High School in Kentucky in 1992, one year before his high school sweetheart Gina. They both attended Xavier University in Cincinnati Ohio where Todd was in the ROTC program and earned his Business degree. After graduation in 1996 he was stationed in Fort Huachuca Arizona as a Signal Corps officer in the US Army. One year later he married Gina.

After serving his country for four years, Todd joined the civilian world and moved to Lynchburg VA to work for GE Financial. Todd and Gina steadily grew their family to include five children over the next nine years. Todd’s leadership and influence also continued to grow as he progressed in his career at Genworth and then later at The Standard in Altavista VA.

In addition to his wife Gina, Todd is survived by his children: Kyle (23), Ryan (21), Tyler (18), Cody (16), and Sydney (almost 14); his parents: COL (ret) Dwight and Catherine Beck; his in-law parents: COL (ret) Sam and Lynn Barlotta; his siblings: Shawn Long, Kelly Gange, and Heather Silverman; his in-law siblings: Natalie Barlotta, Patrice Ramey, and Justin Barlotta; and thirteen nieces and nephews. Todd is predeceased by his sister Shannon Beck.

Todd valiantly battled glioblastoma, a grade 4 brain cancer, for the last 20 months of his life. In this time frame he continued to be an amazing father, husband, employee, colleague, friend, and goal-setting dreamer with a positive mindset and an unwavering faith in Christ’s love. He always made whomever was in his vicinity feel valued, and he never stopped making people laugh until the last few days of his life when no sounds escaped his lips. The trials and triumphs of his journey were written about in real-time at www.caringbridge.org/visit/toddbeckva

Todd had a vision to help veterans on a weekly basis at the National Center for Healthy Veterans in Altavista. To see his vision become a new reality, Gina is raising money to fund a tiny home for their Veteran village community. In lieu of flowers, tax-deductible contributions may be made to the NCHV, with Designation to “Todd Beck Tiny Home” at www.healthyveterans.org
