On Saturday December 26th, 2020, Tracey Lynn Giordano, loving mother, and inspiration to many, passed away at the tender age of 57. Tracey was born November 12th, 1963 in Lynchburg Virginia to John and Grace Tinsley. An enthusiastic learner Tracey graduated from high school and went on to receive two degrees from Virginia Tech Following her degrees she enlisted in the Navy and was stationed at Portsmouth Naval Base during Desert Storm. She received an honorable discharge in 1992 shortly after the birth of her first child Jennica. She gave birth to her second and last child, Brianna.
Tracey had a zest for life, a joy and vibrancy that was noticed and admired by all that met her. Her greatest passion was cooking, focusing on mainly on southern African American Style food. Later in life she graduated from Virginia Western with a culinary degree, all while being legal blind. Unfortunately, towards the end of her life she was plagued by many health issues, but it did not stop her from spreading the joy that she created.
Tracey is preceded in death by her father John Tinsley. She is survived by her children, Jennica Sublett (spouse Matt Sublett) and Brianna Giordano, her mother Grace Tinsley, two aunts Phyllis Peters and Gracie Tinsley, and her cousins Mike and Fred Shearer, Rochelle Gause and Angelique Gray, and lastly by her dearest best friend and caregiver Debra Gowen.
At this time, a service is being scheduled for April 2021 in Quantico National Cemetery with full military honors. For more details, please contact Jennica Sublett. The family is asking in lieu of flowers to please make donations to the American Diabetes Association, in Tracey’s name.
