It is with great sadness that the caregivers and family of Violet Marie Robertson announce her passing on October 28, 2018, at age 84. She was born on February 20, 1934, the 5th of eight children to Calvin and Maizie Robertson of Lynchburg.
In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by four sisters; Juanita Wilson, Inez Foster, Betty Marsh, and Nancy Goff.
She is survived by her sister Dolores Wright; brothers, Calvin Robertson, Jr. and Roy Robertson and her devoted “niece-baby” Sue Scranton.
Violet was so fortunate to be placed by DePaul Community Resources with the loving family of Cecil and Bettie Jennings, Violet’s “Baby-Girl” Ashley Watkins, and spent 23 years in the loving care of these earth angels, and a special thanks to her loving friend Tyler Jennings for always putting a smile on her face.
Violet loved playing with her dolls, dancing, playing her guitar, and was often heard singing her favorite songs and hymns.
She was a joy to all who knew her and anyone who spent time with her had their lives enriched.
The family would like to extend special thanks to DePaul Community Resources Day Support for their love and care, her Centra Hospice Team and Nurse Ashley Cunningham, whose devotion was unparalleled and her support was indispensable.
The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday November 1, 2018 in Spring Hill Cemetery.
