Virgil Early “Pete” Farrar, 88, of Lynchburg, died on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. He was the husband of Janet Estes Farrar.
Pete was born in Nelson County on July 13, 1927, a son of the late Russell Early Farrar and Mary Wood Farrar. He proudly served his country in the US Navy after graduating from Virginia Tech for two tours of duty during the Korean War. He was retired from General Electric after 29 years and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Pete is survived by his stepson Mark Joseph DeShano, and his wife, April; and his grandchildren, Darrin Blake and Alexis Grace. Pete was predeceased by his first wife, Lois Cunningham Farrar.
The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, on Sunday, November 8, 2015, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
