Virgil Rolland Kesler, 82 of Lynchburg, entered eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. He was the husband of Myrtle Lovelady Kesler.
Born on August 29, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late William Herman Kesler and the late Caroline Miller Kesler.
Virgil was a professor at Ferris University and attended Beulah Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and was dedicated to serving Him throughout his life. He firmly believed in Phillipians 1:21, “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jim Olson.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Myrtle; five children, Gary Kesler and his wife, Renae, Geraldine Olson, Dale Kesler and his wife, Melody, Donald Kesler, and Randy Kesler; seven grandchildren, Crystal Kesler, Ryan Kesler, Jennifer Olson, Juliet Olson, Nathan Kesler and his wife, Courtney, Emily Kesler, and Meredith Kesler; and many other wonderful and loving family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015, at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg. A celebration of Virgil’s life will be held at Beulah Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Dennis Hollandsworth officiating.
