Virginia Adams Brown

Virginia Dawn Adams Brown went to her peaceful rest Tuesday March 29, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born September 26, 1950 in Chester, PA, Virginia was a daughter of Louise Simmons Adams and the late Leonard A. Adams.

In addition to her father, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Brown. 

In addition to her mother, Virginia is survived by her daughter Kim Adams Sandidge, and her children Justin, Brian, Shaquan, Jordan, and Kobie, her brother Kenneth A. Adams and wife Linda, her sister; Margie A. Smith and husband Marty, her niece, Renee A. Trent and husband, Randy and their children, Emily and Alexis, her nephew Benjamin A. Adams and daughter Mina, and her two devoted friends Tracy and Pat.

Virginia was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and Aunt. Virginia was a very private person. Virginia was a graduate of Brookville High School Class of 1968. She was a member of Marsh Memorial UMC and a former employee of Imperial Reading and retired from the Virginia Department of Child Support Services. Her greatest pleasures in life were her family, her job and the beach. She especially loved butterflies and her art work.

The family will receive friends from to 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg and at other times at the residence of Ken and Linda Adams. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Manley officiating.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Marsh Memorial UMC, 20348 Leesville Road, Lynchburg, Va 24502.
