Virginia B. Purdy, 94, of Huddleston, died Sunday, May 1, 2016. She was the wife of the late John Andrew Purdy.
Born August 30, 1921 in Penhook, she was the daughter of the late Russell Edward Bradner and Mattie Laura Meeks Bradner.
She is also preceded in death by her son-in-law: C. Wayne Haley; one grandson: Andrew Wayne Haley; and her brother, Larry Bradner.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Mona P. Haley; grandson: John Gregory Haley and wife, Shelia; great- granddaughter; Leigh Ann Haley; sister, Hilda Priddy; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Roselawn Burial Park, 103 Clearview Dr. Martinsville, VA 24112.
The family request memorial contributions be made in Virginia’s honor to the Andrew Wayne Haley Memorial Scholarship Fund. 110 Pointe O Woods Drive, Huddleston, VA 24104.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, is assisting the family.
