Virginia Ceary Layne

Virginia Mae Ceary Layne, 62, of Lynchburg, formerly of Bedford, died on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 as the result of an automobile accident. She was the wife of Robert D. Layne. Virginia was born on November 4, 1949 in Vinton a daughter of the late Ernestine Wilson Ceary and the late William Paul Ceary.

In addition to her husband, Virginia is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Hackett Clegg and husband, Gary, one son, Sherman Hackett and wife, Tina, five grandchildren, Brittany Hackett, Jessi Hackett, Casey Clegg, Heather McCrea and husband, Paul and Liberty Hackett, and three great-grandchildren, Kaydyn, Trinity and Isaiah all of Lynchburg and many special relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Virginia was predeceased by two infant sisters, Gladys and Bonnie Ceary.

Virginia was a member of Tree of Life Ministries and was an employee of Home Instead Senior Care.

The family will received friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with Pastor Mike Dodson officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
