Virginia Christine Stinnett, of Lynchburg went home to be with her Lord on February 8, 2011 at Virginia Baptist Hospital at the age of 92. She is survived by her husband of 76 years Walter H. Stinnett.
Virginia was born on February 11, 1918 in Cass, West Virginia. She was a retired seamstress with Imperial Reading. Virginia was preceded in death by three sons, Thomas E. Stinnett, Joseph and Eugene J. Stinnett, a brother Joe Petts, a sister Margaret Stafford of Norfolk, Va.
She is survived by her son Robert Stinnett (Mary) of Lynchburg, VA, daughters
Martha Gillispie of Madison Heights, Eva Mawyer (Carroll) Susan Dobyns (Raymond) all of Lynchburg, Maude Campbell (Dalton)of Spout Spring, Edna Pope (Wilmer)of Rustburg, VA, 2 sisters Francis Phillips of Lynchburg, VA and Pat Miller of Clearwater, Florida, daughter-in-law, Jean Stinnett of Roanoke, VA and a sister-in-law Joyce Petts of Norfolk, VA, 25 Grandchildren, 50 Great-grandchildren and 10 Great great Grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kimberly Combs, Home Health Service and all the doctors and nurses at Lynchburg General Hospital and the Virginia Baptist Skilled Care Center for the care and love extended to our mother.
A funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home Madison Heights Chapel with Pastor Richard W. Jett officiating. Interment will follow at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Lynchburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
