Virginia Fulcher Keesee Tyree
April 17, 1917 — July 18, 2021
Virginia Fulcher Keesee Tyree, 104 years, of 738 Crestwood Circle, Lynchburg passed away to be with her Lord on July 18, 2021. Twice married, Walter F. Keesee of 49 years, he passed away on October 13, 1982, and was also married to Ambrose Tyree, he passed away on January 30, 2002.
She is survived by three children: Walter Keesee, Jr. of Lynchburg, Wayne Keesee and his wife Linda of Madison Heights, Lois K. Dillon and her husband Ronald of Port Orange, FL, one brother Harvey Fulcher of Lynchburg, one sister Kathleen Chapman of Madison Heights, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her two husbands, she is preceded in death by her parents Howard Copeland Fulcher and Lena Worley Fulcher, a son Ronald Howard Keesee, a daughter Phyllis Keesee Glauner, three brothers: Willis Fulcher, James Fulcher, and Johnny Fulcher, three sisters: Frances McCreary, Lucille Mayberry, and Alma Hitchman. She loved all of her family and friends very much, and hopes to meet them all in heaven someday. Virginia retired from the Central Virginia Training Center after 32 years of service.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
A Celebration of Virginia’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home with the Rev. Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Thomas Road Baptist Church.
