Virginia Layne

Virginia Pearl “Jenny” Layne, 95, of Forest, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018.

Jenny was born in Lynchburg on September 30, 1922 to the late Lucy Coleman Layne and Curtis Lester Layne. Jenny was retired from G. E. and a member of Timberlake Baptist Church for 60+ years.

She was predeceased by her sister, Stella H. Fuqua and brothers, Robert L. Layne and Curtis (Pete) E. Layne and a nephew, Donnie P. Fuqua. Jenny is survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara H. Layne, her nieces: Nancy L. Miller (Gene), Janice L. Parker, Barbara H. Engledove; step-niece Victoria H. Smith (Gregory); nephews Curtis E. Layne, Jr. (Cindy), Michael L. Layne and step-nephew Charles F. Hall (Lisa); great nieces, Teresa E. Cox (Cecil), Kristy Fairchild (Eric); step-great nieces, Sabrina H. Lee (Austin), Melanie Hall; great nephews; Tommy Parker, Dwayne Parker (Rita); step-great nephew, John M. Hall. Also two special great-great nieces; Carrie C. Scruggs (Trevor), Kattie N. Cox.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home. A Service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
