Virginia Thompson, 77 of Lynchburg, died on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at her home. She was the wife of the late John Henry Thompson.
She was born Wednesday, August 26, 1936 in Campbell County, a daughter of the late Bannie Martin and the late Rena Tanner Martin.
Virginia is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth Edwards of Lynchburg, and Katie Mayberry and her husband William of Appomattox, two sisters: Frances Odell Paschal of Lynchburg, and Dorothy Kay Otey of Rustburg, a grandson: Travis Mayberry and wife Elizabeth, a great-grandson: Colton Wade Mayberry, two nieces: Sharon Campbell and Brenda Coleman, a devoted nephew: John Edwards and special friend, Faye Mattox.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11.00 am Friday, May 30, 2014 at Spring Hill Cemetery, with the Reverend Dr. Melvin Campbell officiating.
