Vivian Bullock Whitehurst, 88, of Lynchburg died Friday, June 29, 2018. She was the wife of the late Ivey J. Whitehurst.
Vivian was born April 20, 1930 in Lynchburg, a daughter of the late Bascom C. Jessee and Joyce Sumpter Jessee. Vivian was active in her community and her greatest joys were helping others and sharing her musical talent. She was a charter member of Forest Presbyterian Church, where she also sang soprano in the choir.
She is survived by her children: H. Wayne Bullock and wife Sandra of Richmond, Kay E. Higgins and husband David of Evington, and Ann B. Drumheller and husband Jim of Forest, three grandchildren: W. Clay Richardson and wife Alicia, Kari E. Cochran and husband Grayson, and Lauren Drumheller, and three great-grandchildren: Jennifer Richardson, Jack Cochran, and Jessee Cochran.
In addition to her husband Ivey and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Mark Jessee Bullock, her first husband, the late Herbert F. Bullock, and her second husband the late Lincoln W. Cross.
A Memorial Service for Vivian will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Forest Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Morgan Whitfield officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
