Vivian Hatcher Quarles, 94, of Vinton and formerly of Bedford, passed away July 4, 2013, at Springtree Health and Rehabilitation Center in Roanoke, VA. She was born July 7, 1918, to the late Howard W. Hatcher and Olive Anthony Hatcher. Also preceding her in death is her husband, John R. Quarles; a son-in-law, Jim Saunders; and several special friends.
Vivian was retired from Rubatex Corporation and was a long-time member of Main Street United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family, which was always her priority.
She is survived by her two daughters, Betty Q. Saunders and Joyce Q. Watson; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She gave each of them very special memories of their very loving \"Granny.\"
A Celebration of Vivian\"™s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Saturday, July 6, 2013, with the Rev. Robert H. Garner officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, you may consider memorial contributions to Main Street United Methodist Church, P.O.
