Wallace A Scott

Wallace Arnold Scott, 88, of Roanoke passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Lewis Gale Hospital.  He was the husband of 46 years to the late Phyllis Ann Mayhew Scott.

Born on January 23, 1934, in Franklin County, he was a son of the late Edison Scott and Ercell Brogan Scott. Wallace was the town Sergeant of Boones Mill from 1973 to the mid 80’s, and he owned his own security company called Security Patrol. He also drove for Radar for a number of years.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Scott; brothers; Harless, and Johnny Scott; sisters, Hettie Hammond, and Helen Jean Anderson.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Sonja Renfro and husband, Howard, Teresa Caddell and husband, Glen; son: Wallace Scott, Jr. brother: Ronny Scott and wife, Faye; special family: Gary Scott, and wife, Lisa and family, special person that Savannah works for that became part of the family, Sharon Ammons; special grandson: Michael Scott; grandkids: Howard Renfro, Jr. Savannah Renfro, Autumn Renfro, Jacob Blankenship and wife, Morgan, Brandon Robinson; great grandson: Troy Blankenship and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a very loving and caring man and would go out of his way to help people.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Plantation Road Baptist Church in Roanoke, Virginia with Pastor Ron Young and Pastor Melvin Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Plantation Road Baptist Church Monday, March 7, 2022, from 5:00-8:00 pm.
