Walter Earl Branch, 77, of Bedford, died Friday, August 19, 2011 in Bedford Memorial Hospital. Born August 4, 1934 in Bedford County, son of the late Mayoma Austin Branch and George Walter Branch.
Earl was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Rubatex Corp. with over 44 years of service.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by three brothers, Homer Branch, Jack Branch and Sam Branch; and a sister Princess Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Ruby B. Branch; a son, Mike Branch and his significant other, Pam Gunter; a grandson, Jason Branch; a great-granddaughter, Hailey; three step-children, Gary Booth and his wife, Diane, Ronnie Booth and his special friend, Phyllis and Rhonda Mitchell and her husband, John; and numerous step-grandchildren, Teresa Hogan, Crystal Booth, Eric Booth, Samantha Booth, Tyler Booth and Brittany Booth; four great step-grandchildren; a brother Marvin Branch; three sisters, Truly Casto, Precious Markham and Betsy Manley and her husband, Lester; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Earl\"™s life was conducted on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Tharp Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ronald Toms officiating. Burial was held in Hunting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, (540)-586-3443.
