Walter Martin Jastrebsky died January 18, 2010 at his residence. He was the husband of Barbara Morlino Jastrebsky for 50 years.
Born January 22, 1928 in Dunham, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Pauline Jastrebsky. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Rudolph, and a sister, Sophia Zydron.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Jastrebsky is survived by three children, Martin Jastrebsky of Denver, CO, Rosemary Hutcherson and her husband, Alex of Williamsburg, VA, and Ann Lewis and her husband, Vincent of Lynchburg, four grandchildren, Tatiana and Mariel Jastrebsky and Cole and Catherine Hutcherson. He is survived also by two step-grandchildren, Agnes and Bartek Palej.
Mr. Jastrebsky was retired from Babcock & Wilcox and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Lynchburg.
The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m.
