Wanda Wright Davis, 71, of Lynchburg died Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Lynchburg Rehabilitation and Health Center.
Born September 4, 1944, in Campbell County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Charlie Wright and Beatrice Wright Scott, and the step-daughter of Thomas Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Wright; and sisters, Ruth Warren, Marva Mack, and Elise Elliott.
She joined Fifth Street Baptist Church at an early age. She graduated from Dunbar High School and Virginia Union University. She entered the teaching profession, having taught school in Virginia, North Carolina, and California before becoming ill.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Raina Aguirre (Eddie); three grandchildren, Eddie, Jr., Jasmine, and Gabriel of Sunshine, Fla.; three sisters, Nannie Croudy, Linda Scott, and Regina Davis (Carl) of Lynchburg, Va.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Lynchburg Hematology, Oncology, Centra Hospice, and The Lynchburg Rehabilitation and Health Center.
A visitation will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at noon with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m.
