Warren H. Ferguson, Jr. quietly and peacefully passed on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at his home. He was born on May 2, 1948, to the late Warren Harding Ferguson, Sr. and his mother Lillian Chambers Ferguson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Quinlan Ferguson and son-in-law Thurman Woodson.
Warren was baptized at an early age and received the Holy Spirit. Warren was educated in Lynchburg Public Schools and was a member of the Dunbar High School Marching Band. Warren a young man worked at Peck’s Department Store in downtown Lynchburg and at H.K. Porter. He also held many supervisor positions at Delta Star. He retired in 2008 from Aerofin due to medical issues.
Warren leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Josephine W. Ferguson (whom they worked together with all the medical issues that occurred throughout the various years), four daughters: Susan Woodson, Sonjay Rucker (Aaron), Sherree Brice, and Sherrell Ferguson, two stepchildren, Alvin Snead (Patti) and Andrea Snead, thirteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law Chaplain Edwina M. Wilson, The Class of 1966, Arthur Ross (Pat) a very longtime brotherly friendship, Roy Robeson, a good friend, and a host of other friends and relatives.
A Celebration of Warren’s Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2022, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with the Rev. Carl B. Hutcherson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
