Warren Royal Tyree

Warren Royal Tyree, 88, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at his residence in Lynchburg, VA.

Born in Amherst County, January 13, 1922; he was the son of the late Frank L. and Alice Tyree Tyree.  He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Storey Tyree in August 2009.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his three brothers; E. L. (Buck) Tyree, Frank L. Tyree, Jr., Lawrence E. Tyree and brother-in-law Henry Austin.

Warren served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.  He retired from Adam\"™s Motor Company after 38 years of service.  He was a member of Sandy Bottom Christian Church.

He was a devoted husband and family man who loved gardening and home projects until his health failed.

Warren came from a family of very talented musicians and was quite a good mandolin, guitar and fiddle player.  He loved bluegrass and country western music.  His talent will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Warren is survived by his daughters Carole (Don E. Sr.) Harris and Brenda (Danny) Coffman all of Rustburg, VA; four grandchildren, Don E. (Cathy) Harris Jr. of Lynchburg, Michael W. (Kathy) Harris of Wake Forest, NC, Wanda (Dale) Adcock of Evington and Adam \"Woody\" (Kelley) Coffman of Amherst; nine great-grandchildren, and a sister Joyce Austin, of Madison Heights.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Hills and a very special thanks to Shanna Davis RN, Elizabeth Copes, RN and Cheryl Parker CNA who showed such kindness and compassion to our dad.

2 Timothy 4:7: \"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith\".

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM today, April 22, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.  A graveside service will be conducted at 11AM, Friday April 23, 2010 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. C. Randy Harlow officiating.
